About my recently hurt foot the doctor now uses words like “fracture”, “irregular” “see a specialist" and “keep the foot elevated, in the boot and your weight off of it.” So this foot saga is still unfolding.
I've realized how connected my feet have been to my art making hands and with the help of
I've been reinventing how I create my fine art. Because art making is going to continue to happen simply because making marks on paper, board or 3d things helps me cope with life. Here's a bunny I drew with my fountain pen in my sketchbook over several mornings to illustrate a phrase I wrote intended to help me to be patient and quit expecting things to instantly go a certain way.
And look at that rabbit walk! Wow! Walking is such a superpower!
Needless to say I'm keeping my foot elevated and trying to see this life circumstance as a chance to spend time reading and thinking about art.
Our Fairy Goddaughter checked on us and gave us get well flowers that were dried so they didn't need extra care - she's so thoughtful! - and she also included several books in the bag!
Flower arranging is definitely an art form and our Fairy Goddaughter has the knack! I read to the cat from one of the gifted books, “What the Dormouse Said: lessons for grownups from children's books” collected by Amy Gash, and we all enjoyed it!
I've also been reading The Anthologist by Nicholson Baker - more about that book and my boot which I've named Smithwick here https://sueclancy.com/2024/02/04/the-anthologist-and-the-apple-cart/
If you're able to walk today, please use your superpower for good things and enjoy your feet!!
What a magnificent creature that bunny is! And so wise to remind us all to focus on that which we can control. Take good care of the only feet you have! ☺️
Big hugs to you, friend Sue! Your wisdom emerges in whatever circumstance you find yourself, and then your talent beautifully illustrates it. What gifts you have! ❤️
