Here's a gouache painting that I mentioned that I was thinking about in my last post… I've titled this painting “The Plot" because I've been carried away by fiction plots before…
…anyway, here's a link to my last post so you can see the sketchbook page and the Haikube play that inspired the painting above - aka where I took the haikubes 🤣.
I decided to do away with the pigs clothes because they weren't central to the, ahem, plot of my painting.
And here are some fiction plots that I'm curently enjoying.
Oh, did you notice the new what-cha-call-it here on my Substack? It links to lists of books I love that are about drawing, creativity or just books to cheer up by … like the Donna Leon titles above. I love books that inspire creativity, that make me smile or have new thoughts. The new what-cha-call-it goes to this link https://bookshop.org/shop/clancy (book sales support independent bookstores and, like paid subscriptions to this newsletter, are also a wee help to keep me in art supplies.)
Here are some sketchbook pages from this week:
Below is a page from my kitchen sketchbook - a recipe for a drink I like to have sometimes when I take an afternoon “read fiction now" break from work.

I hope your weekend is relaxing and full of love and happiness. Thanks for being here!
Thanks for pointing out the new heading whatchamacallit thingy! How cool is this?
Almost as cool as the haikubes!
That is one fat pig--but reading so buoys him he can fly!
