In early 2020 as the pandemic began I wrote and illustrated a children's book titled “Alphapets”. I created this book for a dear friend who had very young grandchildren. I had thought the book would be a gift for my friend and that was all but Storyberries, a book publisher/distributor based in Australia, saw my book on the Blurb.com website (I used Blurb to make my book) and wanted to distribute it… and, long story short, I said yes.
Quite soon after that I was asked “when will you make a book about pets that are not cats or dogs?” so by July of 2020 I created “Alphapets Too”.
Today a downloadable ebook version is attached below for my newsletter subscribers.
Here are some photos of the printed book “Alphapets Too” (available here).
I had fun writing the abecedarian poem and illustrating it using ink and gouache. I also had fun including a few visual puns to amuse any adults who might read my book with a little one. I'll bet you see the pun below…
Here's a photo of me with the book back when it was released in July 2020. In those days we were doing book releases and everything else in socially distanced ways. So my wife
took this photo in our backyard. In 2020 Storyberries distributed an ebook version, did an audiobook version and by now “Alphapets Too” has over 65,000 reads on the website www.storyberries.com! You can see or listen to my entire book for free online by clicking here.
If you're a newsletter subscriber you can download my entire 36 page book to have on your digital devices from the button below. I'll add this book to my index page of 14 other ebooks asap. Enjoy!
Love your little books. I must get copies. Congratulations. Precious.
I enjoy that Eddie looks like he has a tattoo of your name on his arm 😆
