I woke up thinking about chickens, eggs and rabbits, imagining that the chickens are quite happy to have the rabbit’s assistance with the decorating and distributing end of the spring egg-hunt business. Producing and caring for the eggs, getting the shells the proper thickness etc., is a full time job - so it would make sense, from an efficiency point of view, to hire rabbits to do the decorate and distribute end of the annual spring ritual.
Here's my breakfast sketchbook page homage to a chicken at work on an egg shell. This page was made by my human hand using ink and gouache - no chickens or eggs were harmed in my art making process.
During another morning breakfast I thought about how wise the chickens are to recognize their own capacity and say "it's enough to have made a good egg. Let someone else decorate and deliver our hard work while we relax among the flowers.” So I drew a flower meadow on this sketchbook page using ink and gouache. My wife
creatively arranged the fruit plate into the shape of a flower!During another morning's breakfast I drew a rabbit practicing egg painting patterns. Rabbit hopes to find some good eggs to do the final paintings on. Quality art surfaces are important.
Possibly helpful for the rabbit - in this ink drawing - where a chicken advertises the quality of their eggs.
Now which comes first the chickens truthfulness in advertising or the actual evidence of the eggs? Hmmm... never mind. Let's just eat our breakfasts and enjoy the weekend!

I LOVE the "beauty knows when to say enough" sketch!! You are so right about barbarism. Juxtaposing the two makes for a very powerful statement.
