Here's a new book of Doodlebugs, a whole collection of them in a 38 page small 5 inch square printed book. (Link here.) A special downloadable ebook version for my subscribers is in this newsletter. This book is related to both my sketchbook method and my doodlebug sculpture described in this post.
With my sculpture (for an exhibit at the Caplan Art Designs Gallery) I refer, visually, to science museum displays because the scientific study of various species and how their varieties enrich our world is similar to ways I view the many kinds of drawing - all art is necessary to a mentally healthy cultural environment just as all bug species are essential to our ecosystem. My new doodlebug book is a humorous collection of various, ahem, species of doodlebugs and is intended as a nod to the type of small bug identification/picture book you might find in the gift shop of a science museum
Here's a video flip-through of part of this tiny 38 page book (it's also on YouTube here):
Eventually Storyberries.com may publish it with some added text in the currently blank pages you'll see in my new Doodlebug book. Storyberries already published my first doodlebug themed book “Shapes by Doodlebug” which you can see for free here.
Anyway, as subscriber to my newsletter you're getting an advance peek. I hope you'll enjoy it!
Sue, your art cultivates smiley feelings of hope and joy. A deep bow and a doodle-bugging lotus for you 🙏🪷🪲
Love your Doodlebugs, Sue! They brightened my morning coffee:)
