In this newsletter I'm starting to share my complete sketchbook ā€œDā€ warts and all with my paid subscribers. These are 160 private pages where I think about life stuff in a visual way and practice listening to myself. It's not about creating perfect drawings or elegant thoughts it's my practice of thinking outloud on paper.

Here's a peek…

Recently I shared my complete ā€œCā€ sketchbook (see my archives) and it was fun for me to share and according to reader responses it seems fun for you to see! And I'm so glad!

Over time I'm sharing my complete sketchbooks only with my paid subscribers because the pages are personal and I don't want these delicate pages subject to mean online trolling behaviors. I do plenty of artwork for the public which I share publicly - fine art, artist books, art prints and fabric designs (https://sueclancy.com/ ) - but my sketchbooks are where I think in a half-awake pre-caffine state in the mornings so they feel much more personal and closer to the bone. Thank you for being kind and I am thankful for your support!

A.M. Sketching is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

Here below the paywall is the first sequence from ā€œD" starting just inside the front cover. (I used fountain pens and gouache to make these pages.)
