I’m still busy on an art commission for the Caplan Art Designs Gallery www.caplanartdesigns.com and like I’ve mentioned before there are times when I need to wait for paint on the commission to dry but I don't want to stray too far from the main task at hand. During those times this week I worked on this painting pictured below. When I finished it I titled it “In The Meantime ”.
As I painted I kept thinking of the song “Itty Bitty Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini”… so I did a Reel on Instagram of me working on the process of painting with that song playing in the background. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cn2vDiBMvIR/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
This painting originated as a page in my sketchbook.
The sketchbook page was inspired by a book I’ve been reading about time.
This week my wife found a new sort of fountain pen that has a “bent nib" which allows me to make thick, medium and fine lines with only one pen simply by holding it at different angles. This unusual fountain pen is called a Sailor Fude DE Mannen 1911 Fountain Pen, Navy/Gold – and my wife found it here: St. Louis Art Supply

Here's a close up photo of the bent nib.
And here's my 3 x 5 inch sketchbook open to the sketchbook page I did with the new pen. You can see the pen, with the cap on, next to my sketchbook. The pen feels smaller than some of my other fountain pens.
I can definitely see the usefulness of this pen especially during sketching/writing moments of time outside in the world. I'll only need to bring one fountain pen and my sketchbook. This pen will slip easily into my pocket alongside my book. The pen cap is a screw-on style which will help make sure the cap stays on when the pen is in my pocket.
Thank you for giving me a moment of your precious time today and I hope you'll have many pleasant moments in the meantime until I next see you.
In the meantime
Hoping for more snapshot summaries of the “time” book when you’ve finished reading it!
As soon as I saw the finished "In the Meantime" painting, “Itty Bitty Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” started playing in my head!! :D:D:D
