Here's a recent morning sketchbook page in which I use some new paints.
As you may recall recently I took a newsletter break… that was so I could start climbing, with my wife, the health hill she metaphorically speaks of so eloquently here. 👇
So hill climbing comes first but since I am me my sketchbook pages will continue in the mornings and my “easel work" as I call it will continue in the afternoons. All subject to adjustment for the particular day’s hill climb of course.
Anyway here's a recent blog post in which I share a photo of my studio and my easel and about my new lights… https://sueclancy.com/2024/01/01/new-year-new-books-new-lights-new-art-same-sue/
Being with someone I love even on a rocky climb is “the bees knees"… and I did an easel painting saying so!
My intention is to continue this weekly newsletter as part of my morning sketchbook practice even if individual newsletters may be shorter sometimes due to hills.
As always I appreciate and value your ongoing support and encouragement! More soon…
Wishing you both all the best. (They say the view from the top is spectacular but yes the journey up is hard work. Sending you both lots of good vibes and best wishes. Getting old sucks sometimes. 🥹)
Love these drawings...the details, the colors! The purple flower says peace to me. Thanks for sharing your expertise and behind the scene tools and workspace, Sue! You are so gifted and a wonderful writer too.
