I've been working on making a printed book containing over 100 of the sketchbook pages I've shared here. Some of you have asked me for one. You know who you are - hopefully you also know that I appreciate your request too! So from these 4 sketchbooks I've selected pages…

Inside I've reproduced the pages as they are in my sketchbook, as you've seen them here, smudges, scribbles, spelling mistakes and all. I've tried to make it as much like you're holding my original sketchbooks as I can. As you can see I'm even calling my sketchbook reproduction A M Sketching - drawings done by hand at breakfast.

- she asked me verbal questions about mental health topics and I gave my answers using only my visual art! This was neatly within my comfort zone.

Reading words has never been a problem for me but writing them and especially speaking them has been. I had years of speech therapy during elementary school. So that history I have of difficulties with words is part of why it is an ongoing practice for me to use words and images together in my sketchbooks.
