Like the magnificent Sequoias here in California whose roots may be shallow but they tightly interconnect to keep all the trees in the forest growing tall and strong for centuries.
Wonderful. So many inspirational words. So much joy. (Itβs a hot summer night here and the birds are so NOISY outside! Family gatherings. Chattering away before they finally settle down for the night. This too brings me joy.)
Thank you!!! I'm delighted to hear about something you enjoyed!!! What kind of birds were they??
It's winter here where I am - not snowy but cold and rainy. The temperature as I write is 40 degrees. I stepped outside briefly and heard and saw birds (junco's or sparrows??) in our bushes greeting the morning.
Hugs to you too dear Beth!!! And I wish for you every good thing!! π€π€ππππ
Hundreds of corellas mainly, plus cockatoos and magpies and starlings. But flocks of corellas fly between the trees, settle down a little and have very noisy conversations before moving to new trees. Much much larger than your tiny little birds. (I never understand how such tiny birds can survive in such extreme conditions.) Sending warm hugs. π€π€
Oooh!!! Your bird neighbors are amazing!!! Wow!!!!! How lucky you are to have them so nearby!!!! Yes, I took marvel at how our little birds manage... they fluff out and look like round balls with beaks and tails. Even our much larger black crows puff up in the cold. Sometimes we see owls, hawks and eagles too...
But your bird list.... WOW!!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!! ππ€ππππ«Άπ«Άπ«Ά
I was watching the latest episode of Starfleet Academy and the phrase "hopeful defiance" was used to described one of the characters. Your work is a hopefully defiant act in the difficult times and I am glad you are here.

Digging that frog. Hehe. Nice post, Sue.
Another uplifting post, Sue, which I needed! And I can't decide whether the cat or the frog is my favorite today:)
I was just thinking of Victor Frankelβs quote yesterday when I was starting to get overwhelmed at the doom and gloom I was reading.
