During the hubbub of my fine art exhibit opening last week (details here) I continued my sketchbook practice during breakfast. I worked on this page over several different breakfasts.
The above sketchbook page was very loosely inspired by the flowers my wife
had photographed (below). I had handwritten a thought on the page that I like to remember during my exhibits: creativity is an ongoing action not a finite accomplishment. It helps me to remember that no matter how well or poorly one exhibit does it was just one activity in a creative life. Anyway, aren't these flowers darling?During a few other morning breakfast times I worked on this persistent hedgehog muralist sketchbook page. My friend
had hoped to see my persistent hedgehog again… so, here's Hedgie still working. Also before my exhibit opening week sped up with a whooshing sound I made certain to get some “library therapy” aka ankle therapy done before I got too busy. Here's the afternoon library therapy sketchbook page.
And here's my how to pick a book philosophy handwritten on a mug.
One of my paintings in my exhibit -titled “Ducks In A Row" - has a hedgehog in it who is taking a break from mural painting to see a show and have a snack. Naturally I made a mug…
I hope your week is pleasantly full of flowers, butterflies and hedgehogs at either work or play.
Oh, the hedgehogs!!! LOVE those scribbles on the floor! 😊
Thank you for the very pertinent reminder that 'creativity is an ongoing action not a finite accomplishment". Needed to read this!
As always, Sue, I feel absolute delight from reading your words and marveling at your art. Grateful.
