I often say that creativity is intelligence having fun. And it is! Creativity is also emotional intelligence in action. For example I had some intense physical therapy upcoming when I began these sketchbook pages below. I looked in my book of quotes and this one by Seneca was encouraging. So I wrote it in. Over the next few breakfasts I drew the bug and the bird in the tree and painted a bit each day until I finished.
At physical therapy I graduated from crutches and a brace to a serious boa constrictor of a compression sock and hiking poles! Yes, that'll be me shuffling along with mountaineer poles on flat ground! Proud to be doing it too!
The next morning during breakfast I saw from the window that our Japanese Irises have bloomed so I hobbled out and took this photo.
Then I painted this sketchbook page below and ate breakfast.
I have a long list of instructions from physical therapy so I'm going to think up a creative project that incorporates the therapy stuff with something fun. Stay tuned.
Somewhat related to celebrating ones strengths: I finished a new acrylic painting, it's 18 x 24 inches, and I have titled it “Flew The Coop".
This painting will join the others in upcoming art exhibits via the Caplan Art Designs Gallery. More about what inspired this painting here.
My immediately upcoming exhibit is titled “Figures Of Speech 2.0" it will open June 7 at the winery Burnt Bridge Cellars and it is a continuation of my exhibit last year. The 2023 exhibit and the book (an art album) were titled “Figures Of Speech”. My subscribers got early access to the 2023 book and that will be true of the 2024 book, too - it'll happen over the next weeks.
If you're new to my work you can catch up with my current fine art exhibit series by seeing the ebook from my 2023 exhibit here. (Paywall removed)
I hope your day is pleasant! 💚💚💚
Congratulations again on the graduation! 🧑🎓
I love the little owl playing the banjo atop a row of books! I wonder what song he's playing . . .
