Given your enjoyments of poetry and history if you were here in my house I'd show you my copy and I'd even strongly consider loaning it to you. 🤔🥰
That's saying quite a lot BTW. 💚
And Armitage's translation is laugh out loud funny. If you liked Lear the Armitage is Lear for the kids over age 50 - not because it's crude but because of the complex wordplay. It's helpful to have had a bit of life experience in order to get all of the jokes.
If you're interested perhaps your library has a copy or can get one via interlibrary loan?🤞
Thank you!! I need the luck with the poles. I love Maupin and have ambitions of getting more of his work to own forever and ever. I've read it all via the library but having to take the books back was hard... you know? So whenever I find Maupin at a bookstore - it's mine all mine (cackling maniacally)
Yes, the poles take some time, but once you get the rhythm—left foot-right pole, right foot-left pole—it’s easier. I use music to keep in step sometimes. Slow😂
Oh good! I'm glad to know it's not just me that has to get the rhythm!! Music...can do!!! Good suggestion!!! Thank you!!!! And yes, slow is definitely the mantra!! 💚💚💚💚
Onward with your healing progress! Congrats! Also, the books the owl is sitting on is the bomb. Just love them. I also love your habit of drawing over breakfast (sounds like a great book title, too!).
Congratulations again on the graduation! 🧑🎓
Thank you - again!!
I hope you’ve celebrated the graduation with cake or pancakes or however you like to congratulate yourself ☺️🍰🥞
We did!!! We went out for Thai food and met a friend at the restaurant!! Thank you!!! 💚💚💚💚
Oh you did! How wonderful! 🫶💚
I love the little owl playing the banjo atop a row of books! I wonder what song he's playing . . .
Awww Thank you!! I'm glad you liked the owl!! Perhaps he's reciting Edward Lear's poem "The Owl and the Pussycat" to a musical background?
You’re welcome! My dad used to read that poem to me when I was little, so that has to be it!!
Yes!!! Has to be!!!
Related: have you seen "The Owl and the Nightingale" new translation by Simon Armitage?
No, I haven't.

Dig the Seneca with his bird and bug accomplices. And delighted to see all the Maupin on your shelf!!
Good luck with the walking poles.

I love the irises and the rest! I’m happy your therapy is going well!💕
Thank you so much!!! And i think I've found a way to make therapy even more fun!! I'll share details in an upcoming newsletter if all goes well...🤞🤞
Are your walking poles working out well for you? I'm still working on getting the rhythm.... And thanks again!!! 💙💚💙💚💙💚

Nice to see your progress, Sue! Just in time for summer.
Oh wow, Sue - you've graduated top of the class! Such an awesome post - you've got this!
'Flew the coop' is such a great metaphor - what beautiful art. 😊
Beautiful! 🙌🌸
The energy of creativity expresses itself so beautifully in your work!
Lovely notebook art combining words and pictures. Great to see another local PDX region creative.
Gorgeous illustrations! I especially enjoyed the iris.
What is the exact title? Maybe I can find it on Internet Archive to borrow.
