This week over several different mornings I finished the blue bunnies I was drawing in the video in my last newsletter.
Here's a closer look.
I also drew more crows and trees in the handmade book I've been working on over multiple breakfasts that has crows flying somewhere.
During an afternoon this week I took my hurt foot to the doctor. To think through what precisely to tell her, my doctor I mean, I illustrated the ouchy. (Yes, I'm firmly convinced that art skills are very practical skills for coping with life.)
The doctor looked at my drawing, asked questions and poked around my ouchy places. (OwwyOwwyOwwyOxenFree!!) Then I was sent to the imaging lab, aka x-ray department, for “stat images” to be sent pronto to my doctor.
In a room resembling a small space station the x-ray technician, as gently as possible, positioned my hurt foot this way and that. (OwwOwwOwwGreatBallsOfFireOuch!)
Then back to the doctor for further conversation resulting in orders to rest, to elevate my ankle, to ice my ankle, to take ibuprofen and to wear this “walking boot” - which the doctor stressed meant I was to walk as little as possible, for example, only to walk in from the couch to the bathroom and back.
So at home, with valuable help from
, my morning breakfast sketchbook area has been somewhat modified. Rusty, the dachshund, approved the new position.Note from your friend Sue: just because you've been using your feet daily for many years don't assume those feet know what they're doing down there! Keep a close eye on them when they're stepping on icy concrete with uneven surfaces!
I hope your weekend is restful and please be careful of your feet.

Sue, that opening quote in your sketchbook about time is spot on! Beautiful blue ink, BTW
I hope you are staying off of it … and healing. The rabbits are wonderful, and the accordion you are filling with the trees is beautiful!
