Hmmm, I'll bet this method could be applied to teaching writing.

Yes!! It certainly could!! Especially when combined with the other techniques mentioned in the newsletters I referenced in the footnotes!! 💚💚💚💚💚

Now that I think about it, I took a poetry workshop with the New Hampshire Poet Laureate, and she used essentially the same method to prime the pump for writing a poem. Go figure!

Yes!!! Way I see it there are many similarities between writing and visual art when it comes to creative methods. 💚😘

Ooooh. I love this! The method yields more interesting prompts than one I use, which is to keep a stack of small blank pieces of paper nearby, and write prompts on them as they come to me (usually when I’m in the middle of doing something else). I drop the paper scraps in a big jar, and grab one out when feeling fresh out of ideas.

I've used that Scraps in a jar method too!! That's also fun!!

If you try my dice method I hope you'll enjoy it too!!! Thanks for your comment!!!💚💚💚

Sue, I am going to be arting this afternoon! I’m diving back in - not using dice, because this time I know what I’m wanting to create! Thank you for the inspiration. 🍓

Oh Sue, you make it look so easy to draw and place the flowers and butterfly just so! Honestly, to my eye it is like there was no more perfect place for each to be. They sing with their visual of Intelligence Just Having Fun! Love the game. As I am just a beginner, I may stick to rolling a single die of an object or an animal to practice drawing. Or a single word to practice lettering. I need lots of practice. 😄

The only reason my drawing looks easy is because I have literally been drawing almost every day for the last 25 plus years! And keeping it simple- a single dice, a single object or animal...or a single neatly written word is quite seriously *the* way to go!! I still do that too as I mentioned in my post today!! Don't worry about perfection just practice and play!!!!! Have fun!!!! And thank you for your wonderful comment!!! 💚💚💚💚💚

I repeat myself, but you are so inspirational and I imagine your brilliant Dicey Art Game be used in all kinds of areas. Of course, as a teacher I immediately see it in language classes where I would work with list of different word groups for the students to play with and come up with stories. Soooooooo good 🥳🫶🏼🥳.
