I've been chatting recently with
about her new book The Artist’s Mind. You can see inner pages of the book as well as our full conversation, aka interview, over coffee here on my blog. One of the thoughts I had was that our minds are our main tools for creativity. To take care of our minds is like taking care of our writing and painting tools. Related to that topic I've been thinking about how paying attention to what we pay attention to is a valuable resource for ongoing creativity. So one morning during breakfast I did this sketchbook page with ink and watercolors.
On another morning I was thinking about thinking while being a creative human, being process oriented rather than outcome dependent, so I did this sketchbook page with a fountain pen.
There's a whole book tour in progress around The Artist's Mind. My blog is just one of the stops. Here's two of the other recent stops that I particularly enjoyed:

Here's my cat contemplating…
… and I hope you too are aware of your valuable mind.
You’ve convinced me to read this book! I love your watercolor flowers. Paying attention to what we pay attention to is such great advice
Thank you so much for this. I've loved our conversations and all that you've shared around the book. As you already know, I love the photos that you took of the book and our coffees. I really want this book to be just the start of the conversation around art and mental health and I think that this reflects that so well in a visual way. Really, really love your sketchbook shares. <3 <3 <3
