Creatures of comfort, cats like routine. But if I had a choice I would nave kept the wood burning fire place. Crackling of fire in real time coursing it’s way to become ashes. There is a feeling of the hearth fire and gathering wood. Something that electricity does not provide. Cats know. They understand a warm lam and comfort.

So true. Cats do have a lot to teach us about comforts don't they?

The joy of being adults in a free society is being able to choose what we value and what works for us. Warmth comes in many different ways.

I think the new 'fire' is remark ably realistic! I understand about choosing the knew fireplace inset. I have a gorgeous rock fireplace with seating ... that rarely gets used. It is pretty, but very inefficient. If the power goes out I can heat food or boil water but the large room is so cold, that I run back upstairs and crawl back under the covers. Really like the new cat mug!

Oh, it looks soooooo cosy! (Sorry, British English autocorrect!). Hurrah for having the table on the left side - as a left-hander that's the 'right' side for me, too!

Love the new setup. I love a flickering fire in the fireplace. We can't have that here ... California has really strict rules about it ... but my dad was a woodworker and we always had firewood and fires going all winter long.

What a cozy, peaceful little setting you have created! I understand that how we begin our morning, sets the tone for our entire day. I love your artwork, and it's nice to see the environment you have put together, to create in. I clicked on the link to the article on computers in classrooms, which led me to another link, on the issue of AI, mental health, and the young boy got involved with his self created chatbot "friend", and took his own life. I think it explains, clearly, the need to limit electronic exposure, and encourage a healthy relationship with the real world. Thank you for including the link to that article. And thank you for letting us into your beautiful morning!

What a lovely home! So warm and inviting. I like the quote from the book. I need to start my day differently. I don’t have a fireplace, but maybe just staring out at the yard and watching the seasons change would be a better way to start my day….. love the cat art! 😻

I just read the Computers and Defective Children article. Children learn best from humans who care about them as humans. Adults do, too, for that matter. (I'm refraining from a rant.) I love your living room cozy transformation!
