I'm the same way - I need to work slowly and steadily towards what's due next week or month. I wake early and spend half an hour doodling, making lists and writing over coffee.

Many, many moons ago I took up rowing. I left after a season because I couldn't handle the stress of having to rush as soon as I got up. I would lay awake at 3am thinking, "what if I miss my alarm and let down the team?!"

My mornings are much more enjoyable now.

Good luck at your show!

Ducks in a row is brilliant and just showed my wife who asked if we can buy them as prints? I was thinking the same thing. So sweet and we love our kayaking, boats and of course ducks!

Nick, as per your request here's an art print of my "Ducks In A Row". The small print 19 x 9 inches is just one inch larger than my original artwork. I hope you'll like the print! https://society6.com/product/ducks-in-a-row8585893_print?sku=s6-27763936p4a1v46

I love the backstory for Ducks in Row! (I don't do frantic either. I will if I have to, but it makes me agitated.)

You are so wise! I am thinking you are wise to take your breakfast time and the wisdom returns to you in that time. Congratulations on the exhibit! So amazing! Wishing you more slow time ahead!

Thank you so much Mary!! In the lead up to my exhibit opening I am indeed building in some very slow times: time to read classic suspense novels, some slow-food recipes to try and even a short and slow train ride! I hope you too are having some relaxing slow times too!!! 💚💚 And thanks again!!

Delightful as ever, Sue. And I like your philosophy of starting a project immediately instead of relying on the adrenalin rush to power you through a hectic, sprint to the deadline. It truly becomes a "dead" line after one is done with that nonsense. (This reminds me of what my orthopedist told me about recovering from knee replacement surgery: "it's a marathon, not a sprint."

Thank you so much!!! Yes!! I agree with your orthopedist. All of life is a marathon and the questions are: how to make it sustainable, how to not wear ourselves out over stuff, how to maintain one's creativity, sense of fun and happiness over the long haul. 💚💚
