Because several of you have asked here's the FAQ for Jolabokaflod (Holiday Book Flood) Evening:

Q: When do you put on pajamas make hot chocolate and open the new books?
A: Immediately after dinner on Dec 24th/25th! Get physically comfortable (remove the itchy tags from the new pj's) and settle in to a cozy space; the bed, the couch or a favorite chair in your pajamas with hot chocolate and your new books.

Q: How do you pick which book to read?
A: Start by treating your new book stack like a wine tasting. Select one book to sample, open it randomly, read one page and perhaps examine the cover and the about the book and author info. Repeat this sampling process for each new book. After you've sampled all of the new books pick the one that interests you the most and read that one!! Refill your hot chocolate as desired and read whatever is interesting (switch books as desired) until you fall asleep!!
