Recently I woke up thinking it might be nice to show you my drawings in context. So here's a video flip-through of my currently in progress sketchbook. Regular readers of A. M. Sketching will recognize recently shared pages. The blank pages you see in the video will get filled and shared here as time goes.
You can also see the video on YouTube
When my sketchbook is complete I will publish it in both print and ebook forms. Subscribers to this newsletter, in addition to seeing my pages as they're created, will get access to the finished book before the rest of the world.
My longtime subscribers saw my last published sketchbook as it progressed and had advance access when it was published “A.M. Sketching: drawings done by hand at breakfast” …
… and I'm sure you noticed my current sketchbook is continuing my sketchbook series in alphabetic order.
Anyway, because I'm a coffee lover I make cups/mugs with some of my sketchbook pages. I make the cups a little along with my various drawings and then I do a mug that reflects the published sketchbook. Like this one titled “Smell the coffee"
Having been trained by my grandmother at an early age to “always use a coaster" under beverages I also make what I call “mug mats”. Here's one of my coasters that matches the most recently published sketchbook. It's made of stone with a cork backing and titled “Morning Coaster"
So, new subscribers (welcome!) that's the kind of thing happens here: my sketches in your email box every week, usually on Friday, to hopefully give you a smile to go with your morning coffee. Some, maybe most, of those sketchbook pages eventually end up in a published book while some drawings end up on a cup, a coaster or a greeting card - all of it is something pleasant you can enjoy, even give to yourself or someone else.
Now you know. 😁
I hope your weekend is relaxing!

What a great look inside your drawing world! One of my favorite things (and there are many) of your art is your color palette. Love everything about this post!
Looking at your work makes me so happy. I see a wallpaper design in this book you've offered us a glimpse into! The birds scattered in the field...just lovely!
