Sourdough pancakes by
were the breakfast yumminess this week. The flowers given to us by our Fairy Goddaughter inspired this ink and gouache sketchbook page. Here's a photo of the gifted flowers so you can see that I took inspiration from real life and then I, to quote a 5 year old, “imaginated" the flowers.
Another morning our sourdough pancake breakfasts had blueberries in the batter. Which of course brought out the rabbits and their sketching pens.
When I wasn't at breakfast (or at physical therapy for my ankle) I was working on a painting for upcoming exhibits via the Caplan Art Designs Gallery. I finished and titled my 8 x 10 inch artwork “Not My Cup Of Tea". My painting is also a combination of things (“imaginated"! 🤣) from my real life stirred into the pancake batter of my imagination. Full details are in my blog post here.
Of course I also did a design for a real life tea mug which is available here. You'll have to add your own cactus if that's your cup of tea. 😉🤣
Another morning during breakfast it felt like a mouse drinking tea and reading sort of day. So I did a small roughly 2 inch size quick drawing, using ink and gouache.
Thank you all for being here! Welcome to all new subscribers! Here's a look at the breakfast table where I draw most of the things I share with you in this newsletter. My sketchbook is 3 x 5 inches when closed so you can see how small the mouse drinking tea drawing is - and how big the yummy blueberry pancakes are!

I hope your weekend contains your favorite breakfast!
I love all of these sketches and paintings, Sue! However, I especially love the “imaginated" and will now fold that into my vocabulary! Your god-daughter imaginated a perfect word!
I'm totally distracted by those pancakes! I'm imaginating myself eating them. 😋😋😋
