My wife
and I went early to the Caplan Art Designs Gallery well before 6pm when the reception officially began. Here's a peek through the Gallery window.Even though we were very early the Gallery turned the lights on and people began coming! The photos in this post were taken by the Gallery, our Fairy Goddaughter and my wife and kindly shared with me so I could share them with you!
There were hugs and smiles …
… and laughter (perhaps you can hear some in this video)!!!!
And we played with my artwork!!!
And we looked at my books together…
And we played with my Eggheads and Doodlebugs and looked at my paintings and pointed out favorites!!!
The Gallery kindly provided me with a chair beside my Doodlebugs so I could rest (and rub) my still in physical therapy ankle sometimes.
There were many fun conversations! In the photo above our friend
is telling about his new book!!Conversations with everyone ranged widely: about recent and upcoming vacations, about people's pets, about new homes, about families and mutual friends, about restaurants, about books and bookstores, about teachers and education, about science museums, about beverages and animals we've known (I didn't know that so many friends have known donkeys, owls and cockatiels personally!! 😮 )… and so many of those topics of conversation came about because of my art!!
That's what I think art is for - connecting with people! It warmed my heart to get to see and visit with so many friends and to meet some new ones!!
So the whole evening was quite a big success in my book!
The Gallery was pleased with my artwork, with the evenings steady crowd and with having some sales too! Here's the Gallery owner Amy and her assistant Steve being happy!
Before the Gallery turned out the lights when our evening was done (wow, those hours went by fast!) I took these photos of the art displays without people in front of them so you can see more of it.
The view from the “sit to rest the ankle" chair.
Then the Gallery turned out the lights and we all went home. My exhibit will continue the rest of October and the Gallery can be contacted (link here) for a private viewing or for sales and shipping. They'll deliver or ship art almost anywhere.
Thank you again, dear subscribers, for all of your support!!!! 💚💚💚💚💚
It's always a pleasure to attend a Sue Clancy art show at Caplan! Your work is a shining light of happiness and fun. My wife Deb loved playing with the interactive art!
Please turn around those sweet little eggheads so the can see out of the window! Well, at least at closing time…
