I enjoyed going your taking us through an artist's interaction with a Japanese garden. The bent-nib fountain pen is pretty amazing!

Thanks for coming along with me!! Yes, the bent-nib fountain pen is indeed amazing- there's a small learning curve to using it and learning how/when tilting your hand this way or that gets you a thinner or thicker line - but once you've got the hang of it using the pen for drawing is addictive!! 😁

I really want to go the Portland Japanese Garden now. Google says I can be there in 5 hours and 38 mins. We have some beautiful gardens here. Thanks for the lovely reminder to visit them and write, sketch, reflect. Today, I’m going to try and visit the healing garden either before or after my dr’s appointment.

I enjoy the expressiveness and poetry of your lines-- also the utter simplicity of your kit! How perfect for that setting. I’ve been there myself, a few years ago, as my sister lives in Portland.

I too am easily seduced by color! I love the top down view of the koi swimming in their pond. It feels cool and relaxing as we start another hot summer day here.

Ohhh, the entire scene is idyllic and relaxing--gave me a dose of Zen which I needed as my thoughts were kinda of scattering today. TYSM for this!

Love the simplicity of pen and ink sketches! Were you using regular fountain pen ink, or some other ink for these sketches?

Thank you! I was using the regular black fountain pen ink that comes in the cartridge of the Sailor Fude DE Mannen pen.
