Thank you!!! I'm glad you saw my post - and I hope you'll be able to apply your own creativity to your hurt leg situation too!!! Solidarity with you!!!! 💚💚💚💚💚
As I said, I was keeping an eye out and when I saw it in my inbox it was the first I opened! If it’s possible, thoroughly enjoying sharing this journey with you. You’re a bright star in a not ideal situation 🌟 and a wise fun finder 💚
Oh so kind of you to keep an eye out for my newsletter!! And thank you for your kind words!! You've helped me too! I might not have written this post without having had our conversation about our respective hurt leg situations. I would have done my library book therapy as described in my post but I might not have mentioned it or done the photos or shared about it here or anywhere publicly because... therapy ya know?!
Oh gee, isn’t that such a lovely thing to connect via chats and writing across waters and time zones via something hurty! I’m wearing a smile and have a full heart from all of this.
I appreciate you and looking forward to hearing more of your library adventures! 💚
The Fort Vancouver Regional Library is a wonderful resource for all kinds of items. They had a book sale last month and I found some super deals on mystery novels. Their Graphic Novel section is pretty spectacular as well.
Yes!! Our library really is a jewel!!! And yes, the graphic novel section is amazing!! I've found some really wonderful stuff there and they have a great selection of the classics: Lynd Ward, Chris Ware, Ivan Brunetti, Lynda Berry, Roz Chast ....
I envy your ability to walk at all. No details from me on this, but just to say, WOW, the library walking project is the best idea ever. Have a great time doing it.
I am hoping you are continuing to have a smooth recovery for your ankle. As a fellow library lover, this post had me miss The Boston Public Library (BPL) during my Boston years. A classmate often called me "The Self Care Queen" so I told him that means that the BPL is my palace :-D . Nowadays when I share book recommendations, I am trying to share links to World Cat instead so people can find a book in their nearest public library globally instead of sharing Amazon links.
I find that libraries are underappreciated and I would have never thought of it as a place to follow your physiotherapist's advice instead of paying for a gym membership. You may appreciate this post by Joshua P. Hill on Substack and I wish I knew about ways to support libraries that they suggest in their newsletter during my US years: https://substack.com/inbox/post/141485308
We have a few libraries that are spread out in my country but many have much lower selection of books and are not as beautiful or large but my favorite one is in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates called House of Wisdom...I wish the distance and traffic on in between was not so bad otherwise I would have gone more often. They have library volunteer programs but the level of involvement is not encouraging as much civic engagement as what I read about US-based libraries.
You show me so wonderfully how much can change when adjusting an attitude to your library cattitude. Thanks for that valuable insight. And may your ankle get better and better one library at a time ❤️🩹.
I love this and everything about libraries! My oldest granddaughter just earned her master's degree in library science, so this is especially close to my heart:)
My son is a Librarian, Sue, and this warms my heart to the core. I agree with you that libraries are spaces of nourishment and delight in so many ways. Yours is a beautiful example! I'm wishing you continued healing, strength, and peace on this journey. May you look back on this time as your own Belle Epoque. 💚✨
Our bodies are amazing! We are constantly making subtle accommodations to surfaces, inclines, obstructions that we don't realize until we are challenged by weakness ,illness, or injury! Each step a little victory!
I am so in love with your library project, Sue - what an absolutely excellent sidestep to taking your walking practice off-piste in such a perfect environment!
Awesome post - fantastic art, as usual, but seeing those smiling faces too, well, that's terrific!
Wonderful! As a former library lady approve this splendid idea! Having grown up down the road from you I know the beautiful gardens you mention and look forward to your future walks there as well. Happy recovery, you are doing so well!
Fabulous conclusion and fine example of positivity and grace under fire.
Thank you so much for your kindness!! I appreciate it!! 💚💚
And I appreciate YOUR kindness! We all benefit from loving each other!
We absolutely and certainly do!! If you'll accept hugs here's several (((HUGS))) 💚💚💚💚💚💚

I like your simple one picture posts as much as the more complicated ones with various. So your library diaries could be just one observation ☺️
Yey for smiles! 😁😁😁

I can see this as Emily Dickinson's wallpaper.
