Sue, your newsletter just gave me an idea. I too should look at transferring the 100 sketches I am creating as a challenge to get me back into sketching every day into some sort of product. I was thinking of tea mugs. I love your cushion cover and tea-towels. And the title 'Diary of a nice day,' is brilliant.
I am envious of your draftsmanship! Your sketches are so full of life and whimsy! I love how you put it that daily practice isn’t about perfection, but self-care! I’m so happy to have found your work!
Thank you!! I really appreciate what you say and am glad my thought that creativity is about self-care resonates with you too!!! And I envy your ability to combine words and pictures!! Because of your work I recently bought a book "Writing Haiku" by Bruce Ross. After reading some of the Ross title I'm even more impressed by you!! Let's keep working and sharing together!!! Hope your weekend is relaxing!
I love the Spoonflower fabric made with your sketches. I also love your practice of sketching every morning. I think I need to steal this idea. I usually start the day working on my panda comics, but seems like I could incorporate a 15 minute unplanned sketch thing to start my day. Also very much appreciate "meeting" another artist who uses actual paint, brushes and ink. When it comes to making art, I am a dedicated luddite.
Oh it's wonderful to meet a fellow artist in the hands on luddite way!!! I spent a number of years professionally doing digital art but I missed the smell and feel of real-life art supplies. So now I indulge!! I'm glad you liked my Spoonflower fabric!!! I love your Panda Comics!! And I gift to you, wrapped with a colorful bow, the 10 or 15 minute morning messy whatever-I-feel-like-drawing sketchbook habit! Enjoy!! ❤
Now that I have declared publicly that I am going to do that. I guess I have to. I also have a Spoonflower shop with (wait for it) mostly pandas. I don't do much with it or promote a lot, but I do love being able to have things with my designs. I bought sheets with my tumbling baby pandas design so I can sleep with pandas. Thanks for the kind words about my panda comics. They have kept me from losing my mind. (kind of) Created with actual pen, ink, and paper!
I had wondered if your comic was done with a pen! Pens look more unique I think and I prefer that! Yippee for panda patterns!! BTW You don't have to do anything with the morning sketchbook gift if you don't want to - it'll fit in a drawer till you want it. You can also regift it 😉

No, I really want to do it. Honest. :-D
Lol!!! Then I'll look forward to whatever your inner panda does with it!!
Hee hee. I do clean up the smudges in the computer, but other than that, it's all luddite pen and ink!
My inner panda needed a new challenge. It didn't know what that was till now! I will post pictures. There could be pandas.
This newsletter is really inspiring!
Thank you! I'm glad to hear that!!
Creativity as a form of self care--genius, Sue!
Awww thank you!!! I appreciate you!!
I've been overworking the past couple of weeks, and my body is not happy about it. Time to take better care of myself!
Me too. I'm going to do better at resting too... I wish you gentle restorative times starting now. ❤
Thank you, Sue.
