Sue, I loved both stories. I have heard them before but the way you had condensed them in one page and illustrated them, was brilliant. I think you can write a book like that for children. One page illustrated, thought provoking, bedtime stories. They will be evergreen and megabit. Also I loved the fish flying while carrying a basket like a hot air balloon. Great idea. Please do share stories about your adopted parents.

Thank you so much for your kind reply!! I've loved the challenge of doing "one page" stories and poems and sayings. That's part of my motivation behind my sketchbook pages. Thanks for your encouragement! I will keep working on this! And, thank you too for asking me to share more stories about my adopted parents...I will share more! ❤

That quilt is such a precious gift from your mom and dad! I think I understand the point of the snake story, but my gut reaction was that the young man was killed for showing compassion and kindness to other living being.

When I first heard the story I had the same reaction. It was explained as sometimes kindness is mistaken for weakness and an advantage might be sought/taken - but if the kind person is able to watch words and actions over time, and remember that a snake is still a snake no matter what they may *tell* you at the moment then it is more likely that the kind person will escape or minimize any harm. (And still be able to be kind not cynical) The story idea is related to the way critical thinking skills come into play re looking at context of who published, when it was published etc in order to identify whether a source info is good or relevant.

Thank you, Sue. That was what I surmised intellectually. Emotionally, it's very hard to do.
