Oh, to have such a gift!! Your sketch of the animals holding hands and bearing trees upon their heads makes me smile -- a great big smile! Thank you for gifting US with your gift. xx
Love those trees! I have no ability to draw but like this calm way that you ease into your day. I usually have coffee and breakfast while answering emails or looking at news on the internet. Not always the best way to begin. I wish I had something similar to what you do. Reading pleasant fiction might be a good way to go...not sure.
Thank you so much for your comment! It delights me to hear that you like my trees!!! FYI: on the mornings I don't draw in my book I usually read a short story and/or a poem in a printed book. Those too can help me help my attitude... Lately I've been reading the Just So stories by Rudyard Kipling or a poem in Where The Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein.
Beautiful arting! My sister and I do daily art later in the day then text them to each other to share. It’s October at the moment so we’re doing wonderful little Inktober Zentangle pieces. Such fun! A few minutes of art can be so rewarding. Thanks so much for sharing yours. So beautiful. Inspirational.
A tree in a coffee cup--there's a happy tree! That's such a point with our bodies little quirks/seeming limitations, enhancing creativity. Appreciate your shares!
Thank you!!! I appreciate your comment!! The sketchbook page of everyone holding paws is my favorite too... and my wish for us all that we could learn to get along with each other like the trees get along with other trees...

[An unnecessary P.S. I always loved GB Shaw and all of his work. However, recently I came across a mention of him as having been a Nazi. WHAT?!! This man with the most marvelous sense of humor -- albeit sardonic? So I googled.
This is some of what I found. "'Mussolini, Kemal, Pilsudski, Hitler and the rest can all depend on me to judge them by their ability to deliver the goods and not by ... comfortable notions of freedom.'" For Shaw, 'the goods' could only be delivered if the people were bound in universal slavery to the state. This enslavement was necessary for the people’s welfare; most of the population were brutes who, when left to their own devices, could not fend for themselves and thus required the state to 'reorganize' their lives for them."]
I hear you. I read this quote by G. B. Shaw in another book I'm reading and the points about not being a "clod of ailments and grievances..." spoke to me as well as the part about caring about community. So I wrote it in my book. Whenever I quote someone in my book I tend to take what I want and leave the rest...
I loved the quote you used! You chose the perfect quote for that picture. I don't mean to criticize, and I think you know that. Speaking of tiny pictures: have you ever thought of selling some of them on Etsy? I am a lover of dollhouses, and have purchased a couple of hand-painted "tiny pictures" for my houses. They are absolutely darling! Most artists seem to charge around $35/picture. The scale for dollhouses is 1/12". I don't know if your pictures would be small enough, but, if so, I'll bet you would find some happy buyers!
Awww thank you!!! And thanks for your suggestion about dollhouses and Etsy!! I will add it to my thinking...
Long ago I did work in real life with a doll house maker. I made tiny paintings and tiny hand sewn hardbound books... It was fun. Thanks again for that thought... 💚
WOW!!! So you know whereof I speak! What superb eye-hand coordination you have, as well your ability with your hands, PLUS your talent! I am a complete klutz with anything on a small scale -- and now with Parkinson's, anything small is a disaster!
What amuses me about working small nowadays is that my formal art school background had me assuming "small" meant 3 foot sized paintings. Imagine my surprise after graduating from art school to learn that there's a whole art historical basis for really small miniature works. But I didn't get really serious about making smal works (8 x 10 inchs being the largest) until I had an illness that made it physically difficult to continue doing my large artworks (the smallest of which was 3 feet)... so I've done much smaller work since then and it's much easier for me to do physically. I'll bet you could do the larger paintings now! I have another friend who has Parkinson's and now he does very large abstract paintings where formerly he did much smaller art. Bodies are such funny things in how they affect and inspire creative possibilities.
Love it! You were never taught about the existence of very small miniature works! I am sorry about your illness, but am glad that you have found a way to overcome it with your work. I appreciate your suggestion about painting with PD. Unfortunately, I am not a visual artist. (I appreciate the visual arts enormously, however.) My issues are more like being able to write legibly, sometimes using the computer. Just daily tasks.

You're welcome! And thank you!!

I LOVE Shel Silverstein!
Me too!!!! I have almost all of his books and I keep them in my breakfast book and read them often!! 💚
I also love your art (and have questions), but that was a much quicker comment to type. 😂
Lol!!! 🤣 FYI I accept both love and questions. Thank you!! 😊💚 Like you I am also in favor of things that are quickly typed...🤣🤣💚💚
Awesome. I’ve been wanting to ask but am never sure if it’s “acceptable” (and hate email, so that is not an option). 😂
Nice work ... I love the little mouse and yellow rose.
Thank you so much!!! 💚
I love them all! You are so talented!

It's all about holding one another, right? Trees are my favorite element of nature.
Yes!!!! And trees are my favorite too!!! 💚💚💚
