I'm glad your opening was such a success! Good friends, good food, good art. Looks like a lovely venue. I was there is spirit, even if it was a bit far for me to travel to.
Thank you!!!! I know you were there in spirit with us talking about how to not be too critical of our own work-in-progress and instead to let them unfold as they will!!! Thanks for being here with us!!!! ππππππ
I'm at that phase in my show prep where I'm trying to decide whether I hate everything I've done, or that it is going to be a good group of work. I definitely have a couple where I stepped outside my comfort zone in style and subject. I'll post them on my ongoing series about the show as soon as I get them photographed.
Iβm mostly confident. At least I should be by now. Itβs always pretty exciting when everything is up on the wall. Then you know how everything looks together.
Yes!! That's the best part - seeing it all on the wall is often inspiration for ways to go forward!! You'll do great! I'm certain of it!! Go Anne Go!!!!
Oh I hear that!!!! I even resembled your remark several times!! I don't remember who said it last night - maybe @E.R. Flynn - but someone said that it's best to just do your best and then go on. Best to avoid excessive arm-chair quarterbacking or TV punditry style after-the-fact prognostication because kindof like when you think of a witty reply after you've left the party - it's a done thing now. To blather about it is useless. Now there is only forward. What you now realize that want to do more of.
Oh my goodness Sue!! Way to be! I'm thrilled for you, and celebrating with you long distance for how others are embracing your talent for expressing your interior uniqueness through exterior images that delight, entertain, and incite others to joy! ππβ€οΈπ₯°π
Looks like it was a fun time! I wish I had a kitchen like that! :-D Speaking of taking photos or being in the moment...I have been thinking about how I can be more intentional about that as I am gradually trimming down my online presence to focus more on the sorts of in-person and online interactions that are more fulfilling to me. About dealing with creative self doubts, have you by any chance read the book "Creative Demons and How to Slay Them"? One of my favorite books: https://search.worldcat.org/title/1258782218
Congratulations, Sue. It looks like you had a blast. And getting together with other creatives to shop talk is always a rich experience. The ideas that flow, the inspirations, the much-needed support from other suffers of the muse. I miss my writerly buddies. Glad to see you have your Circle around you. And take care of that ankle of yours. My goodness, it seems to be taking a long time to heal. Take care.
Hey Sue, that was so cheering to read and see. It looks as if everyone had a cool time.
Andβ¦in the midst of the celebration of your work, you include the pages from your notebook on resilience. Yes, we kind of all know this, but thereβs real value in sharing how we all feel these things and ways of working with them. Thereβs something powerful and moving in seeing them in your writing, in your notebook, at your celebration.
What an awesome opening night! Glad you listened to you ankle for self-care π±
I at one time had a very negative self-talk habit and what finally broke it was me asking myself "Is this what I would say to a dear friend" and " How would I react if I heard someone speaking to a dear friend this way?".
What a great gathering! ππππ₯
Thank you!!! It really was such fun!! ππππ
Such a wonderful record of an extraordinary night. Congratulations! Hugs to all.
Thank you so much!!! Hugs to you too!!!! ππππππ
