I love the sketch with the quote about the value of an unread library. I've gone on this book-buying-binge for awhile now after a couple of years of restraining my habit to read the books I already had. How foolish of me. I want people to buy my books, so why not feed karma and enjoy others' books? Even if they pile up next to my favorite chair. Thank you, Sue, again for a lovely reminder.
You're so very welcome!! Both my wife and I have stacks of books by our favorite chairs, on the ottoman, on the extra chair in the kitchen, by the bed... and I get a little thrill each time I look at our book stacks or flip through them. All that potential! All that love!! All those writers writing and sharing!! And then I feel like the luckiest person alive...
In my studio I have a phrase thumbtacked to my wall that says "Stay close to whatever makes you glad to be alive".
I guess my guilt from not reading them all is all the lost potential that's just sitting there waiting to be sampled and learned. I've become very adept, however, at stopping the reading if something doesn't hold my interest or is deemed not something I want to deal with. Why eat poison food, right? Or unsalted food? If the language and the story or information doesn't spin your cogs a bit, it's time to move on.
Yes, if the book doesn't hold my interest I put it down too. That's part of why I love, and don't feel guilty, about unread books - they're there for whenever I'm ready for them. 💚
What a terrific post, Sue - I love reading about your process, but to meet the places where the magic happens too - well, that’s brilliant! Beautiful photographs and artwork, as always - thank you so much for sharing.
Aww you're so kind! Thank you!!! I hope you saw that I linked to one of your newsletters in one of mine recently ... I think what you do is inspiring too!! 💚💚
I love that your Professional Dog Alphabet book has found an appreciative audience! It's a wonderful book!
Thank you so much!!! I've loved hearing that little kids have picked their favorite dogs in my book 😊

Nioce--I envy your sense of organization. I can get organized but the space soon de-evolves back into disarray!
That's so kind of you to say...thank you!! Please know that I do disarray too... perhaps organized disarray?! 🤣🤣🤣
LOL, maybe that is a byproduct of a creative mind :-D
Lol!! At least it's a byproduct of my particular creative mind 🤣🤣
Well, it would appear we are of a like... :-D
And isn't that wonderful? Hello dear kindred spirit!! 💚😊
Likewise! *hugs!*

If you make more cards, let us know where we can buy ‘em. Those cats are too cute.
Thank you!!! It'll take me a while to get the new cat cards created... I'll keep you updated about my progress here in my newsletter... then when I get them done I'll add them to the collection of my "odd cards" that I have here: https://www.zazzle.com/collections/odd_greeting_cards_art_by_clancy-119338499337369594
