Love the blue cats. Curious if there's a particular reason/feeling why they're blue? I know you mentioned before that the cat itself is a comfort, which makes perfect sense to me. And I adore the shades of blue ... just wondered if there's any meaning in that for you?
I selected the blue ink at the store at first because it is the blue color of the old fashioned blue willow china plate patterns and that color fit another art project I was working on. Then later the trump campaign made derogatory statements about "childless cat ladies" and has been demeaning women by denying them access to healthcare. Plus the trump/republican anti-lgbtq and anti-immigrant rhetoric also is upsetting. So I began donating money to the Harris/Walz campaign .... long story short the blue ink has come to represent hopes for democracy, decency and kindness. And cats are comforting critters so with my blue ink cats I could send a non-verbal "hang in there/we're in this together" signal of solidarity with my friends that's tangentially related to the current election while also being lighthearted art. Does this answer your question? And thanks for asking!!!
Absolutely. I can't believe I didn't put the blue cat together with the politics right now. I think I am just deeply committed to being tuned out this week. I already voted and the stress of it is bad for my mental health so I'm taking care of myself in an effort to have energy to keep giving to others whatever happens. I was so tuned into it that It didn't even cross my mind!
Thank you for your support!!! 💙💙💙 And I'd love it if you drew some blue cats too!!! If you share them please tag me as I'd love to see what you do!! There aren't enough blue cats in this world... so please make some more!! Thank you!!!! 💙💙💙💙🐈⬛️🐈⬛️🐈⬛️🐈⬛️

Nebraska blue dot is on tee shirts and signs that make a statement. Cats call out Me- wow! Your cat appears completely content. Blue sky above; red flames 🔥 below.
Always love seeing your drawings, Sue. Very helpful to watch the process unfold. I just started sketching this week after being inspired by you and some other great artists on Substack!
That is so cool! Your years of experience are very evident. Such confidence. And what a great way to get the blue wash! The watercolour pencil gives the preparatory outline before the ink then creates a lovely wash! A brilliant approach. Thanks so much for sharing this. I really enjoyed it. Sending heaps of hugs and best wishes.
