I hope your holidays were fun - including Jolabokaflod if you tried it - and that this year will be a good one for you. Thank you for all of your kindness in response to my newsletter about the new hills in this new year. Here's a drawing I did one morning to remind myself to “look for the helpers” as Mr. Rodgers used to say and focus on them!
Another morning during breakfast these helpful hedgehogs appeared and reminded me that help comes in all sorts of patterns.
If you were curious about what was in the big Powell's bookstore sack our Fairy Goddaughter gave us for Jolabokaflod (the sack our huge 11 pound miniature dachshund was guarding in this newsletter) here's a photo of the sack contents!! Both
I completely enjoyed everything our generous Goddaughter shared!!!!Here's a closer look…
On both days of Jolabokaflod (Dec 24th and Dec 25th) I spent my reading time with these titles…
… and I'm still happily reading them!
Somehow over the holidays, while I was taking a break, more subscribers, both free and paid, appeared!! Thank you and welcome!! Thank you for being here - I appreciate your helpful support! Newly paid subscribers please access and download any of the ebooks I've written and illustrated from my index of 12 titles (click here)!
This is a photo of my messy corner of the breakfast table where I create the drawings I share here on A M Sketching.
The reading and sketchbook pages that I do inspire the fine art and artist books that I create for commercial art galleries (details on my website) - that's the “easel work" I spoke of in my new year's newsletter.
So here on A M Sketching you have breakfast table early views of my creative life. Welcome again to new subscribers and I heartily thank all of you for your ongoing support!
I appreciate and value all helpful hedgehogs! Happy new year! Onwards and upwards!
Ditto all sentiments about that little (or those, if it's a number of individual hedgehogs) 🦔 being hella cute creatures!
Lovely books; thanks for sharing!
Ooh, one time I had the honor of "petting" a young hedgehog at a zoo...oh. my. goodness. such. goosebumps! 💙🦔💕
Those helpful hedgehogs are just too endearing for words!
